Apologies

since i couldnt do a survey due to no one answering i have looked through the internet to find this extract from http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/games-are-exceeding-movies-stan-lee which shows how Games are catching up to movies, this is a interview with Stan Lee creator of marvel comics and advisor/producer on all marvel movies so he knows what he is talking about.
Spider-Man creator Stan Lee has said he believes games are catching up with films these days - and in even surpassing them in some respects.
Lee was speaking during a panel discussion at this year's Comic Con event in San Diego. "When you talk about games evolving over the years and becoming more like movies, in many ways, they've gone beyond movies," he said. "To do a movie is difficult, but it's linear. There's a beginning, a middle and an end, and that's it - you write a story.
"In a videogame, you're writing many stories within the story. It's a totally different structure and a totally different philosophy of writing and, I think, a much, much more difficult one. I get the feeling more work goes into these videogames than even goes into the movies."
During the panel discussion, trailers were shown for forthcoming Activision titles Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. Lee confirmed he's also working on new movie projects with Marvel - but by the sounds of things, it's games that are really impressing him these days.
"I marvel at the fact the games look as good, and in some cases better, as the most expensive movies," he said. "[Those] guys are just geniuses. Now you watch one of these games and it's like watching the greatest superhero movie, except you're part of it. It's indescribable.
"And you know it takes a lot to impress me," he joshed.
Comic Con is going on right up until Sunday night at the San Diego Convention Centre. Our highlights of the show have so far included seeing John Barrowman signing autographs and looking frightened, grown adults walking round in Hogwarts uniforms and this quote, overheard from someone flicking through the event schedule: "Cliffy B and Peter Molyneux in the same room? That's a whole lot of awesome in one place, dude."

This is the end

Since the video is done i decided to put this extra video up to prove yet again that Games are catching up to movies whether they like it or not, this is the ending to Modern Warfare 2 so if you havent completed it dont watch. This game put the player in controll of a solidier fighting against terrorists and this scene i felt was excedingly cinematic and proves my point.

Evaluation

1. what ways does my project challenge conventions?
my project challenges conventions as the opening give no clue as to The Spectre being a good guy, he breaks someones neck who at the time appears innocent, a few movies have an anti hero but from the start the Spectre appears to be a pure cold blooded killer, my project uses a convention seen in many movies which is the bad guy wearing a mask this makes the audience instantly distrust the Spectre due to the stereotype of people hiding something sinister. Back to the question my project both uses and challanges conventions in many ways.
2. How does my film represent certain social groups?
In all honesty my project shows only two people and no one else so it doesnt realy represent any one however the mask could represent the insanity or darknesss within in us all, it could also mean that we all wear masks when out in public to hide our real selves either due to fear of persecution, low self confidence or even to hide our anger at fellow humans the project represents not one social group but because of the incorporation of a mask it could be considered to represent us all and what we hide.
3.How would my film be distributed? if it were made in full and had a bigger budget with real actors and a crew i feel that the my project would be distributed at smaller film festivals like sundance or be realeased to smaller more independant cinemas in england like the one in Hanley which show smaller more independant films, as it is however it would be lucky to make it on YouTube.
4.What is my target audience?
The target audience would be teenagers as they could view the violance and understand the message behind Spectres mask also the mature subject matter would make the Rating a 15.
5. How would I attract my audience?
I would attract my audience like most small movies, use of the internet where i could reach a wide audience and the costs would be cheap, another idea would be to use posters in small indepent cinemas were a niche audience would see the posters and watch.
6.What have I learned over this course.
Ive learned how to use the editing tool pinacle studio 10 to better edit my footage with better transition effects, some of which I have put into my final edit. I have also learned that pinacle studio 10 splits the clips up better than movie maker.
7. looking at my prelim how have I improved?Since my prelim I have learned how to better place my footage and how to better edit it, I have also learned how to better pick location and where to place my camera if I want a speciffic angle such as the shot in my movie where only the feet are seen. looking at my prelim I have looked and realised that my theory of the search for improvement never ends, looking at my prelim and mock ups i realise that even if you try your best you can always do better and improve.

This is how I made the my thriller openening, the video shows me editing my video using pnacle studio 10.

Storyboard

This is my storyboard for my thriller opening I must apologise for my crude drawings done in paint my drawings arent much better quility and i would of done double the work for the same quality. The thrillers name is Spectre, the titles based of the main charecter a secret agent whose after those who betrayed him, he has a past and wears a mask swearing never to take it off until he has gained vengence on his betrayers, the mask itself is a symbolic sign of his inner darkness. Along the way he meets old friends and foes eventually he kills the betrayers and reinstated to the secret services upon being proven innocence, he then decides to keep the mask on during future missions to remind him of his past. the opening is Spectre (or maxamillian Jaggerweis as reveiled later from an old SAS friend) taking down one of his betrayers and getting his revenge, in the first screen man 1 leaves his house and walks down the road, in screen 2 he hears a scream and carefully investigates, in screen 3 spectre appears and man 1 runs, 4 spectre gives chase, in screen 5 man 1 thinks hes lost spectre only to have him standing behind him and have his neck broken, in the final screen the movie title is shown. I would also like to state that this movie idea is completely fabricated by Mathew Brereton and there shouldnt be a movie like it as the ideas used were formulated for use in media studies work.
